Welcome to State Of Grace, a podcast about pop music hosted by Hollywood insider and pop music obsessive Eric Fulcher and Cinnamon co-founder/editor-in-chief Caitlin White. The goal of State Of Grace is to illuminate themes and trends in pop music and discuss landmark albums in the genre with the kind of scrutiny that many other more male-dominated forms of music have already been afforded for the last several decades. Given that, the majority of each episode will almost always be focused around a female or queer performer.
The first episode is about Ariana Grande’s Sweetener tour, which is arguably the pop event of the year, and also an important cultural moment for both of us, personally, as long-time Ariana fans. I first saw her perform a setlist from this era at Coachella weekend one (still kicking myself for not getting “NASA” merch), then we both attended a proper LA show together on May 6 at the Staples Center.
