Welcome to 80 On The Dollar, a podcast about harnessing feminine energy in the workplace hosted by Alyssa Caverley. On average, women only make 80 cents for every dollar men earn, even when comparing similar roles and experience. Given that statistics, each episode of this podcast will feature a female and/or queer entrepreneur who is leaving their mark on the world. In our first episode, we introduce journalist and author Naibe Reynoso. Naibe is a Mexican-American, Emmy Award-winning journalist who has been working both behind and in front of the camera for more than twenty years.
She’s the co-creator and executive producer of The Trend Talk, a one-hour variety show that highlights Latino who are entrepreneurs and influencers and work in film and television. Reynoso recently published her first children’s book called Be Bold! Be Brave! which highlights notable Latinas who contributed to US history. In this episode, Naibe talks about everything from her own personal struggles coming up as a female reporter, to her hopes for her own daughter as she enters the workforce. Plus, Naibe touches on why she feels Latinas have been left out of national conversations, even by other women. Listen to the episode below or download the episode here.
